Dear Swimmers and Parents
 
Quite a few of you will know that last year the club took 20 swimmers to take part in a training weekend at Crystal Palace, hosted by ‘Total Swimming’:

This was so successful that in conjunction with ‘Total Swimming’ we have decided to hold an Aquateer’s day, exclusively for Beacon swimmers on Wednesday 2nd June 2010 at Crowborough Leisure Centre.
 
The day will begin with an hour and a half training session, coached by our ‘Aquateer’, Melanie Marshall, who has swum in the last two Olympics and holds two European gold medals and seven Commonwealth medals. She is now head coach at the ‘City of Derby’ swimming club. Please see link:

After this we will spend an hour working on and understanding core stability (in dance studio).
 
In the afternoon there will be a motivational presentation from Mel and a chance to get autographs and goody bags. This will be followed by another hour and a half pool session; with underwater filming of each swimmer in order for you all to receive personalised DVD’s of 4 strokes.
 
The cost of the day will be £50.
We are offering this to club members who are 10 years or older. However, there are only 36 places, if we have too many applications the coaches will make the final decision on who should take part. This will be influenced by attitude and commitment to training.
