BEN STEVENS AND JO ROUT TO CARRY THE OLYMPIC TORCH.

BEN STEVENS AND JO ROUT TO CARRY
THE OLYMPIC TORCH.

To know someone carrying the Olympic torch is pretty rare, as it is such an amazing experience, but when there are two people from the same club who made it through to carry the torch... this is when everyone needs to know!!

Beacon Swimming Club Coach and Head of The Freedom Rescuers Lifesaving Ben Stevens had been chosen to represent England and carry the Olympic torch next summer.
Beacon Swimming Club Coach, Lifesaving Coach, and ex-paralympian Gold Medallist Joanne Rout has also been successful in making the final cut to carry the Olympic torch.
With over 60,000 people applying, and only 5,600 getting a place, this is an amazing achievement for both Ben, and Jo!!

Both Jo and Ben will be carrying the torch on the 17th July between Brighton and Hove and Hastings (exact part of the route is to be confirmed). This is an incredible, once in a lifetime achievement and both Jo and Ben thoroughly deserve their place in carrying the Olympic torch!
