Beacon swimming club sent a team to Greven in Germany for the annual tri gala against Green and Montargis.

The weekend was even more special as Greven and Montargis were celebrating there 40th anniversary twinning together.

The squad of 20 swimmers set of on friday morning and arrived Friday evening being picked up by their host families. The gala was on saturday afternoon with the three clubs TVE Greven, USM Montargis, Beacon and a international team made up from swimmers from both clubs.

Beacon started well in the girls  1992-1993 50m butterfly winning in a new personal best time 34:32. Katie Allen also won the girls 50m  1996 butterfly in a time of 37:29.

Other wins came from Elliot Stevens (94-95) butterfly with a pb time 31:32, Chris Gosh (91) 27:77, Harrison Stevens (96) 36;20.

In the girls 50m backstoke Rebecca Smith (94-95) came first in a pb time 36:67, Amy Allen (92-93) 2nd 37:54, Anna Wild (91) 3rd 39:61.In the boys 50m backstroke Thomas Wheeler (94-95) 1st  34:92, Tim Wood (92-93) 1st 31:39, Ben Stevens (91) 3rd 35:26.
Girls 100m individual medley Rachael  Stevens (94-95) 3rd 1:24:07, Izzy Boddy (92-93) 1st 1:17:39 Amelia Brice (91) 3rd 1:19:19 and Katie Allen (96)1st 1:28:64. Boys 100m individual medley Thomas Wheeler (94-
95) 1st 1:15:57, Tim Wood (92-93) 2nd 1:11:60, Chris Gosh(91) 1:07:39 , Harrison stevens (96) 1:20:70.

Also wins came from Jessica Goldsmith in the (96) 50m breastroke in a time of 46:13, Harrison Keith (92-93) breastroke who tied with Greven swimmer David Lukas in 36:83 and William Brown (96)1st 43:04.

With the squad keeping a good solid performance in the relays the finial results where Beacon 1st 137points, USM Montargis 101 points and 3rd TVE Greven 88 points. The trophys were presented to the clubs by the mayor of Greven and Montargis at a ceremony in the town centre and then the swimmers moved on to separate reception where they received there individual medals. The whole weekend was a great success for all 3 countries.
