Current Vacancies at Beacon Swimming Club

As you will see Beacon Swimming Club from time to time have vacancies both paid and on a volunteer basis, if you would like to know more about any positions advertised then please email or drop in to the

We are currently looking for:

Poolside Helpers – We are currently looking for a couple of poolside helpers for our Sunday night training sessions. If you would be interested in helping please speak any of the swimming coaches or Fiona Wood who is usually around most training sessions.
Please note that a poolside assistant is an un-paid position (we all do it for the love of helping our kids)

Synchro Coach - Enthusiastic qualified coach (or ex competitive synchro swimmer will be considered) required, to help our talented swimmers reach their full potential. The session runs for 3 hours on a Wednesday evening  but there is always a possibility of increasing this time if necessary. Payment according to experience.

Swimming Lesson co-ordinator - To co-ordinate our ‘learn to swim’ section. This position pays expenses only at the moment but could be developed into a small business opportunity for the right person. Come and talk to us.

Swimmers Newsletter Co-ordinator - We would ideally like to offer this role to senior member/s of the swimming club, as we feel it would be a great opportunity for them to express themselves through a Termly Newsletter, highlighting the swimmers and clubs achievements through their eyes. It would also be great for them to be able to add this to their CV’s when job hunting, not only that they co-ordinated the termly newsletter for Beacon Swimming Club, but were involved in committee activities. Our aim would be for the committee to be able to submit articles for inclusion and have a member of the committee review the final piece before publication. So come on who’s into IT/ Media Studies – take up the challenge for 2012!

Child Welfare Secretary
- The CWS will be someone who makes sure that all relevant people who help in the club have current CRB checks and child protection courses have been attended by much the same people. They will also have responsibility for looking after the swimmers interests and welfare. This might involve dispute resolution. It will also involve looking after the incident log and keeping it up to date.

Open Secretary - This position will involve discussing with the coaches which open meets to attend through the year initially. When the Opens details have been distributed the Opens Secretary will distribute the information to our club members, collate and check the entries, collect the entry money and then send the entries in to the clubs. Lastly inform the swimmers as to who's entries have been accepted and remind them in an email just before of signing in times. It would also be useful to keep a log of who has entered each open.
