Beacons junior swimmers travelled to Tunbridge Wells last weekend to compete in the Ted Valder gala, against RTW Monson, Tandridge Aquarius, East Grinstead, Tonbridge and City of Canterbury swimming clubs.

There were good performances across all the age groups, (ranging from 10 years and under to 13 years and under). In the individual events maximum points were collected by Charlotte Down and Tim Gilbert in the 10yrs & under 50m freestyle, Hannah Shutt and Marcus Goldsmith in the 11yrs & under 50m breaststroke and Max Douch in the boys 12yrs & under 50m freestyle.  All the team’s efforts enabled Beacon to sit in second place by the halfway stage.

Good results in the relay events, (taking one of the top 3 finishes in all the races),  brought Beacon overall victory, with Junior Captains Rachel Key and Callum Gray collecting the trophy on behalf of the team.
