GALA REPORT FOR BEACON SWIMMING CLUB FOR 10TH OCTOBER 2009

 

Swimmers from Beacon Swimming Club travelled to Newhaven’s Seahaven Leisure Centre to compete against teams from Lewes and Brighton Dolphins.
The team gave a strong performance, winning 32 out of the 54 races on offer, with individual winners as follows:

Men’s Open 50m butterfly - Tim Wood , 29.42secs
 Girls 15&under  50m backstroke - Rachel Stevens, 35.52secs
Boys 15&under  50m backstroke – Harrison Stevens, 34.40secs
Girls 13&under 50m breastroke – Stephanie Parsons, 43.51secs
Boys 13&under 50m breastroke – Lawrence Berry, 42.24secs
Ladies Open 50m backstroke – Amelia Brice, 35.16secs
Boys 15&under 50m freestyle – Ryan Wheeler, 30.41secs
Girls 13&under 50m butterfly – Katie Allen, 36.60secs
Boys 13&under 50m butterfly – Lee Fenner, 36.56secs
Girls 13&under 50m backstroke – Catt Grey, 38.64secs
Boys 13&under 50m backstroke – Harrison Stevens, 35.42secs
Girls 11&under 50m breastroke – Rhianna Field, 45.34secs
Boys 11&under 50m breastroke – Jamie Russell, 48.14secs

Beacon capitalized on these results by taking maximum points in 18 out of the 20 relay events, giving them an overall score of 188 points, with Lewes finishing on 168 and Brighton Dolphins on 128.  The winner’s trophy was collected on behalf of the team by Captains Amy Allen and Tim Wood.
