Dear All Beacon SC Members,
Please note that from 21st March there will be a change to the Sunday Training Schedule.
17:00-18:00 will be stamina training mainly for the younger swimmers with Andrew.
18:00-19:00 will be dives, starts and turns with Andrew and Sharon.
19:00-20:00 will be stamina for mainly senior swimmers and for the Sunday pre-squad with Andrew and Sharon.
Potential New Morning Training at Beacon School
Although awaiting confirmation we hope to be starting early morning training at Beacon School for the duration of the summer term. (possibly longer) It will run from 7 until 8 on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays starting from 19/04/10 until 23/07/10 excluding half term.
Places will be limited to the first 18 swimmers who show an interest. You may select to swim on either 1, 2 or 3 of the same sessions per week, but you can only sign up for the whole term.
There will be an additional cost to cover expenses, this will be £5 per week for 3 sessions or £2 per session. This works out at £65 for the 13 weeks swimming in all 3 sessions or £26 for one session or £52 for 2 sessions.
Land Training
New Land Training sessions will hopefully be starting in the near future. These will be taking place on Wednesdays from 19:10 - 19:50, Thursdays from 19:00 - 19:45 and on Sundays 17:00 - 17:45. They will be mainly for the seniors but Sharon will consider some juniors if space permits.
Warm - Up and Stretching
In the near future Sharon will be taking small groups of swimmers and teaching them some warm-up stretches and flexing exercises, these will help prevent injury to the swimmers. It will be expected that swimmers arrive ready to do these about 10mins before the start of a session. We will be looking for some parent volunteers to oversee these, as obviously Sharon will be preparing to coach or actually coaching.
Summer Camp 2010
This years summer camp is now being organised, the proposed dates are 9th - 13th August. We are trying to book St. Leonards like last year with their wonderful facilities.
Look out for announcements in the near future.
