The Beacon team was in action this Saturday in a fun time-capped inter-club gala at K2. It was a fantastic effort by the whole team, with a great atmosphere as they all cheering each other on. From 32 individual swims there were 22 PB’s & 6 speeding tickets. Coaches are always pleased to see swimmers beat the time cap, even though the team does loss points.
There was a nail biting finish to the event, with the rest of the team cheering so loudly they almost raised the roof during the final squadron relay with such close positions between the teams; every swimmer gave it they’re all but sadly Beacon was just pipped by East Grinstead, denying the necessary one point needed to beat the eventual winners.
The final points positions were Atlantis 228; Beacon 227; East Grinstead 217, Crawley 188, Dorking 168, Redhill & Reigate 167 & Worthing 135.
