The Results - 18th December 2014
Last Thursday night
saw the climate of the Beacon SC Champs 2014. 8 Swimmers took part in the 400m
IM event. Congratulations to Jo C & Daniel B for winning the Open events
& achieving new Championship Records. Between the swimmers there was 7PB’s
& 4 CQT between.
This brings the close of this year wonderful championships with a staggering 777 Swims, 599 PB’s 115 CQT [28 DQ’s]. I hope everyone has enjoyed the swimming with some hotly contested races. Thank you to everyone who made it possible.
The Results - 13th/ 14th December 2014
This
weekend saw Beacon SC Champs Sessions 4 & 5 taking place. Once again the
swimming was of a fantastic standard with more Club Records being broken, PB’s
& County Qualifying times being acquired.
Sunday’s session, also, saw our very special guest Nick Gillingham, giving an inspiring talk to us all, signing Club t-shirts & photo’s taken with members who had achieve awards. The Charity Race cause great excitement with Gabby T beating the boys to win the prize of a signed t-shirt kindly donated by Mr Gillingham. The raffle and entry money will be given to the Gabby’s chosen Charity "Taylor Made Dreams”. Many thanks to William Long, who arranged for this fantastic boost to our Championships; it made it an evening to remember for many years to come.
For those of you who love the number crunching, the running total after 5 Sessions is from 769 swims there has been a staggering 592 PBs and 111 New or improved County Qualifying Times [28 DQ’s]. Even with one more session to run on Thursday night, this is an amazing achievement by Beacon Members.
35 Beacon swimmers are now able to compete at Sussex County Age Group Champs 2016. We’ve still got Seahawks and other open meets in the New Year to obtain more times.

The Results - 1st/ 2nd December 2014Wow, what a fantastic start to this year’s Club Championships; Monday night saw 6 members tackle the long distance events with 3 Boys attempting the 1500m free & 3 Girls taking part in the 800m free.
We had 5 PB’s; 2 New Club records from Jo C & Daniel B while Lauren C, Louisa L, Ben K & James Mc managed to obtain County Qualifying Times and another so close it was unfair over such a distance. Well Swam Everyone. Thanks to those who helped Officiate & to the swimmers who assisted their team mates with the lap cards. Perhaps more members will give it a go next year.
