Beacon Swimming Club made their debut at the Sussex County Masters Championships at The Splashpoint Leisure Centre in Worthing last weekend.

A team of 10 swimmers decided to put into practice all they have been working on and have achieved fantastic results.

A Masters Squad was introduced at Beacon Swimming Club in October last year, and has gone from strength to strength.  For many it was wanting to get fitter, but with structure and targets, for some members it was to do something other than sitting watching their children swim, and others it was just what they needed after a long day in the office.  With encouragement and fantastic training from the Coaches at Beacon, many of them exceeded their expectations by a long long way!

beacon-swimming-masters-teaHilary Brown won Gold in the 400m Freestyle, and Silver medals in the 25m Butterfly, 25m Backstroke, 25m Freestyle, &  50m Freestyle;  Ben Reed Bronze in 50m Freestyle, Andy Hamerton Silver in 50m Breaststroke & Bronze in 50m Butterfly; Donna Trotman Silver in 25m & 50m Breaststroke; Tammi Bell Gold in 50m Freestyle, Silver in 50m Breaststroke & 50m Backstroke; Justine Dowsing Silver in 25m Breaststroke; James Rohan Gold in 50m Freestyle & Silver in 100m Freestyle & 50m in Backstroke; Jane Hand Bronze in 25m Butterfly, 25m Freestyle & 100m Freestyle.  William Long and Dan Codman were also part of the Team, had some fantastic swims, but were up against strong competition.

Beacon Swimming Club are very proud of the achievements of their newest squad and congratulate all, on their success and look forward to seeing them in action at our Club Championships in November.
