Sunday saw the return of the ever popular Beacon Colours Gala –  this internal fun club event  had three teams racing over 25m or 100m & with 2 mega squadrons relays with every team members having to swim a leg. In the first squadron, the variety of doggy paddle & under water swimming was impressive.

It was a close fought event with some extremely tight races – keeping the officials working hard. The final 24 x 25m free squadron had a change of leader throughout, and the roof was lifted off with the volume of noise from everyone.

The final result was 1st Black, 2nd Green & 3rd Red. All team members were awarded the appropriate medal for the efforts but this event is more about having fun with friendly rivalry and not forgetting the most wonderfully bright swim hats which are already being worn in training sessions with pride.

Thank you to Fiona for organising this fun packed event & for all those on poolside who helped run this gala so smoothly.

[No PB’s are recorded on club website for this event, although times are noted by Coaches to aid relay/team selections for inter-club galas]
