Seahawks Development Meet – Session 1

Saturday night saw 33 Beacon members participate in Session 1 of the 3rdannual Seahawks Development Meet at K2, Crawley. This has, always, been a wonderful chance for members of Atlantis SC, East Grinstead SC & Beacon SC, who are members of the Seahawks organisation, to race each other in this Closed Licensed meet with the intension of obtaining some elusive County Qualifying Times [CQT]. No medals or points are awarded but it’s a wonder chance, especially for the younger members, to experience the "Open Meet” format & racing against new opponents.
Beacon swimmers had 100 swims between them – occasionally finishing one race & having to report for their next one. But admirably they obtained 48 PB’s, 10 new CQT [5 DQ]. Well done to everyone who took part & thank you to all the parents/Officials who help make the meet follow with minimal fuss.
This brings the Club’s CQT for 2015 to 156 swims from 35 swimmers, & there are a few more opportunities to gain County times before the close of entry.
