Sussex League Round 1

Sussex League Gala Division 1 Round 1For the first time in the Club's history, Beacon were hosts for the Round 1 of 3 for the Sussex League Division 1 gala on Saturday. We were up against Brighton SC & East Grinstead SC. Although, early on in the proceedings, Brighton took a dominate lead which was not to be caught; there was the local rivalry reignited between Beacon & East Grinstead. Beacon for much of the evening were just head, but East Grinstead were to overtake in the final few races.
Final scores were Brighton SC 414; East Grinstead SC 322 & Beacon SC 317. Following the other two galas that were occurring on the same evening, else where, Beacon is in 7th place, just ahead in points of Hastings Seagulls SC & Littlehampton SC.
For our own Stats, from 80 individual swims the team managed to get 39 PBs [No DQs].
For Beacon, Round 2 takes place on the 4th June 2016 with Littlehampton SC hosting and Crawley SC [last years Division 1 winners], so another tough round but one which are swimmers are capable of performing well at, if they can use the passion & commitment they showed on Saturday night.
