Beacon Community College Swimming Pool

Beacon Community College has announced that "they will not be reopening the pool in the immediate future."
As you will all appreciate this will be a big blow to Beacon Swimming Club as we have previously used the pool to add swim time to our members. This could mean an end to an era; Beacon Swimming Club was formed at the school in 1976 and indeed takes its name from the school, bringing positive PR by association.
With news this week of £50,000 funding given "to give the town a sporting chance" we ask was this money well allocated and did the school apply for this funding?
