ASA SouthEast Regional Championships 2015
01 Jun 2015
Saturday & Sunday, saw the final sessions of this year’s ASA SouthEast Regional Long Course Championships at K2. The Competition was, as always, extremely fierce; with Swimmers from Hampshire/IOW, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, East & West Berkshire, Kent, Surrey & Sussex all taking part again.
This was for the 15 years and older age group, and saw 4 of our senior swimmers taking part; Jacob B, Daniel B, Ryan W & Evan D, all of them did extremely well. With 13 swims between them, there were 5 L/C PB’s. Congratulations to Daniel who qualified for 17 years/older 200m, 100m & 50m Breaststroke and subsequently came 5th, 7th & 6th respectively in those events. Well Done all of you - you’re all a credit to the Club, as you all are juggling with important exams at this time of year.
This now concludes this year’s Regional Championships, & I think Beacon can be proud of its achievements as the number of Sussex swimmers at the event were outnumbered by the other counties. Thank you to Fiona, who was one of the few Sussex Officials to assist at the event as well.
From this meet, we have to wait to see if our swimmers have done enough to acquire a high enough ranking to be able to qualify for the British &/or English Age Group Championships in August.
