Club History - Para swimming
Beacon has had a proud tradition of welcoming all multi-classification swimmers with Jo Rout, Olympic Paralympian gold medallist from the 1988 games in South Korea, being a lifesaving coach at Beacon. In 2001 Kristy Baldock and Ali Broad Bent represented Beacon and the South East Region at Nationals in Sheffield with Kristy and Ali achieving multiple gold medals. Oliver Grinsell represented England in 2001 and swam at Paralympic trials for the Athens Games of 2004. In 2009 Georgina Wood also qualified for and represented the Club at Nationals and won multiple national medals.
