Club History - Biathlon and Biathle
The Club has had good connections with Crowborough
runners where many members have trained and in 2014 the Club became affiliated
to Pentathlon GB to enable its members to compete in Biathlon competitions,
which are combined swim/ run events.
A
series of qualifying competitions are held throughout the year with the top
ranking competitors being invited to compete in both the British Championships
and the British Schools Championships.
James and Matt McCarthy entered the
Club’s first competition with the 2014 South East Regional Biathlon British
schools event with James becoming South East Regional Champion. In 2015 based
on outstanding performances in the British Championships both James and Matt
were selected for Team GB and took part in the Biathle World Championships in
Georgia in September 2015 were they achieved an amazing bronze medal for GB in
their age group.
