International Gala at Great Success!

Beacon Swimming Club hosted the Annual Tri-Gala this
weekend, though sadly the Montargis Club, France, were unable to attend this
year, TVE Greven, came over from Germany, for a great weekend of swimming and socialising.
The Tri-Gala has been taking place for 35 years between the
clubs, with each county taking it in turns to host the other two. All the clubs
look forward to the Annual event.
Many new friends were made this year, and old friends
thoroughly enjoyed catching up with each other. The Gala took place at Freedom
Leisure in Crowborough, who are great supporters of Beacon Swimming Club and we
would like to thank all the staff for their help in setting up for the event.
A big Thank You must also go to Fiona Wood for organising
the weekend, Ursula Taylor for putting together the after gala party and to
Matt Miller of Jarvis Brook Football Club who put on the Disco. Not forgetting
all the Club Volunteers, who regularly help out, without their help, our swimmers
would not get so many great opportunities, to enjoy their swimming.
Next year it is TVE Greven’s turn to host and our swimmers
are already looking forward to the trip to Germany.
