John Herbert Trophy Gala

The last Saturday of September, saw Beacon take part in the John Herbert Trophy Gala run by East Grinstead SC at the Pavilion in the Park Pool in Horsham.
It was, by all accounts a lively evening with great support from older swimmers helping out some first time team members.These development galas are a fantastic opportunity for our younger swimmers to learn the discipline of racing & the fun of relay events. The final position is really not something to be too concerned about at this time of year as swimmers are getting back into their training after the summer break.
The overall result doesn't reflect the individual successes with a large number of PBs obtained by the swimmers - some 22 individual PBs from 32 individual races; 7 1st's, 5 2nd's & 7 3rd's placings. [3DQs]
The final results were Mid Sussex Marlins 267, East Grinstead 263, Crawley 246 Redhill&Reigate 214, Atlantis 210, Beacon 205 & Worthing 104.
