Last Saturday & Sunday was the Lis Hartley Long Course Development Meet at K2, Crawley. Although, it was a level 3 Development meet the standard of racing was far stronger than previous years. This is probably due to all County's now having to run their annual Championships & Age Group Competitions as long course events [ie 50m set up]. This follows the directive from the ASA, in attempt to raise the standard of racing throughout the Country and, also, the limited number of events run as long course in the SE region.

22 Beacon swimmers took part in a wide variety of races over the weekend covering the 50m to 400m events. From 62 swims they managed an impressive 48 PB's between them. [No DQs]. Congratulations to those who achieved placings - Ben B 3rd, Jo C 3rd, Lauren C 1st & 3rd, Amy C 3rd, Charlotte C 2nd, Kiera E 3rd, Matthew H 3rd, Maisie M two 2nds & 3rd, Tegan R 1st, Gabby T 2nd & 3rd, Ryan W two 3rds.

Considering the strength of the event, Beacon overall did extremely well & should all be proud of their PB achievements this early in the season. Some of the times may convert to short course [25m] PBs as well and may, therefore,  have achieved Winter County QT. If you think this is the case, please contact Mandi asap as entries need to be submitted.
