Open Meet and Family Get Away to Somerset-Oct 2014

Swimming Club are holding a Level 3, 50m Open Meet on 25th/26thOctober at Millfield School, in Somerset.
We would like as many swimmers as possible to attend. THIS GALA IS OPEN TO
EVERYONE WHO HAS A TIME THAT QUALIFIES! It will be a great opportunity for
swimmers to race in a 50m pool and have some fun together! Please ask the
Coaches if you're not sure.
We have thought of making this a long weekend, so have set out the itinerary as below.
Friday 24th October
Travel down
Possibly meet with others in the party – but at own instigation
Saturday 25th October
Attend the Gala
Meet to eat at TBA– but this is down to the individual/family to come along
Sunday 26th October
Attend the Gala
Meet to eat at TBA – again this is down to the individual/family to come along
Monday 27th October
Meet at Millfield for a 2hr training session in the pool before heading off home/shopping or whatever else you would like to do!
You will need to book your own accommodation.
Below are the suggested places to stay, within easy reach of Millfield School:
Please do not book until confirmation of gala entry has been received – but please take a look – Sharon stayed there in January and felt it was very good.
Paymentwill be for the events at the gala which is £4 for 50m, £6 for 100m and £10 for 400m events and if you want to attend the training session at Millfield you must book your place with payment of £5, with your gala entries.
*** You will need book and pay for your own accommodation directly with the hotel as soon as we have confirmation of our entries.
Swimmers who attend without parent/guardian
A parent or guardian must be responsible for any child under 18, and the club, must know who this is, if the parent is not travelling with the child.
If you are willing to have an additional swimmer in your room, please let me know, we will be putting a list together and will put everyone in touch with those willing to take an additional person and those looking for accommodation/car space for a swimmer.
Gala
Entry The times will need to be long course, swimmers current 25m times
can be converted, so they don't need to have swum in a 50m pool. Choose the event;
convert it, using this link and see if
it fits in the Qualification Times. You don't need to worry, I will check
conversions.

ENTRIES FOR THIS GALA MUST BE TO ME BY FRIDAY 9TH MAY– if you would like your swimmer to attend this gala, but without being accompanied by a parent/guardian, please have you entries to me by TUESDAY 6THMAY, we can then put you in touch with those willing to have another swimmer with them.
Entries can be emailed, posted to me 6 Gibraltar Rise, Heathfield, East Sussex, TN21 8HL, or given to my children Lauren or Charlie to bring home.
