"Congratulations to our Regional Swimmers"
This
Bank Holiday weekend has been a busy time for Beacon swimmers and team personal
alike with two competitions being held over the weekend, and both involving
Club members.
The SE Region Youth Championships at K2, Crawley saw 5 of our senior boys taking part. They managed to compete in 19 races obtaining 9 PB's between them. A commendable effort by Jacob, Daniel, Thomas, Ryan & Harrison - Sadly, those elusive National times are still not coming but are so tantalisingly close.
The other competition, this weekend, was the Atlantis SC Spring Open at Horsham. Always a popular event and it was pleasing to see several of our clubs' less experienced swimmers giving it a go. Of the 28 team members, swimming in 85 events they managed to obtain 40 PB's, 1 Regional time [9 DQ's]. We had fifteen, 1-3 top finishes in their respective age groups from Hannah, Jo, Lauren, James, Matt M, Maisie & Jazz. Special mention should go to Hannah for getting her Regional Qualifying time for 100m Fly. Overall the Beacon came 10th out of 24 teams which were from Surrey, Kent & Sussex.
