Beacon Swimming Club’s Mission Statement

Beacon Swimming Club is open and welcoming to all and as a team will work together to maximise the abilities of each individual while providing opportunities for all to succeed in their goals and so build a vibrant, positive and successful Club.

The Club’s aim is to provide an enjoyable, structured environment in which to:

  •  Help swimmers fulfil their individual potential.
  •  Prepare them to compete at a level appropriate to their ability.

It is understood that the principal way to develop the performance of the Club is to develop the performance of its members. As such, the development of each individual swimmer is the main objective of the Club.
Our aim is for all swimmers to enjoy their time at the Club, not only on fitness and competition level but also on a social one as well. The clubs social atmosphere has assisted in our swimmers seeing vast development throughout their time with us. Even with this however, we do expect all swimmers to train properly and to respect their coaches and fellow teammates.

At Beacon Swimming Club the welfare of all our swimmers is paramount. As such we have adopted the ASA's Wavepower Child Protection Policy and Procedure document.

The Club has a dedicated Welfare Officer [email protected] who is contactable by any swimmer or parent to discuss any concerns about swimmer, volunteer, official or coach behaviour.

If you have any cause for concern about the welfare of a child in the club, please talk to the Child Welfare Officer, one of the Coaches or other Committee Member in their absence.

Alternatively, if you are a worried or concerned swimmer, or you are worried about another swimmer, you can call the ASA/NSPCC Swimline in confidence on 0800 100 4001.
